Nourished, Balanced Free Philosophy

I believe in order to be truly and fully nourished in life we have to nurture all aspects of our body, mind and soul. This will in turn create the balance you crave in your life and set you free.

As I’ve said before, life is a beautiful journey, a delicate balancing act of work, relationships, spirituality, fitness, food and freedom.

All of these components must be nourished and feel in authentic alignment, with who you are, and then and only then, will you be able to create the balance and feel the freedom you truly desire.

My Principles for creating a Nourished, Balanced Free Life

I break this into Lifestyle (Primary Nourishment) and Food (secondary Nourishment) principles. Creating harmony in both these areas is essential  to creating the life you deserve. You simply expect to feel incredible by only focusing on the food principles if other areas in your life are not working for you.

Creating balance and freedom, means nourishing all aspects.

FOOD PRINCIPLES
Secondary Nourishment

Let food be Thy Medicine & be Medicine be thy Food

Hippocrates

Food has the power to heal,if you are not feeding your beautiful temple with whole and real foods then quite simply you won’t be getting the nourishment you need. So how do you do that:

  1. Eat as close to nature as possible: That is eat real foods. Ideally fresh produce with one ingredient and avoid foods with ingredients you can’t pronounce.

  2. Eat more whole Vegetables and Fruits: These are some of the most nutrient dense foods on the plant, especially vegetables.

  3. Eat organic where possible: pesticides and chemicals are harmful to the body, they disrupt our endocrine system and some have even been linked to cancer and other diseases, so best to buy organic.

  4. Bio-individuality: “one person’s food is another person’s poison” Joshua Rosenthal. Every person is unique and as such we all have different needs and different lifestyles. Therefore there is no one style of eating that suits us all. As a coach, I honour this and guide my clients in finding what suits their unique needs.

  5. Eat without distraction and eat mindfully. Tune into your body, learn to listen to it’s hunger signals and what it really needs. Multitasking whilst you eat is a no no. Focus on the food and allow it to do its job

LIFESTYLE PRINCIPLES

Primary Nourishment

How you do anything,
is how you do everything

These are the Non food sources of nourishment  and I consider them to be the primary needs that must be addressed in order to create true, authentic balance and freedom. These include, career, finances, relationships, health, spiritual practice and  exercise. All of these have an incredibly unique link in your relationship with food and your overall health and wellbeing. There are also threads that connect them all and often just addressing one of these areas has a significant impact on the rest.

That is why if one of these areas becomes significantly imbalanced it can wreak havoc on your entire system and life. Within this, exists the balance of yin and yang, with everything in life having an equal and opposite, its vital that when creating a balanced life we nurture both our masculine(yang) and feminine (Yin) sides. The feminine energy, inspires creativity and inner transformation, its soft and intuitive whilst the masculine energy helps us take the necessary action steps to get things done.
